DashGrub

Your game. Your choices.

Here is what DashGrub stores to run your room and show optional offers. Updated 13 September 2026.

Inside your room

We store your chosen name, food choices, presence, game state and votes in Firebase. Anyone with the room code can see its public game state, including names and revealed votes. Unrevealed picks are available only to the server and the player who submitted them.

On your device

A signed, essential cookie identifies you in each room for up to seven days so reconnecting works. We remember your last three room links on this device for 24 hours. Your browser remembers your name, language, sound setting and any country or city you choose. We never require location permission to play. Clearing site data removes these saved preferences and room identities.

Protecting the game

To limit room creation abuse, we store a protected digest of your network address with short-lived request counters, never the original address in these counters. They expire within two hours and are removed by scheduled cleanup.

Optional offer measurement

After a result, you can allow or decline measurement of offer views and clicks. This choice lasts 180 days and can be changed through Measurement settings beside the offers. Playing and opening links work either way. Measured events use hashed identifiers and contain no names, votes or room codes. Clicks do not tell us whether you ordered.

Delivery sites and sponsors

Delivery and restaurant buttons open external sites with their own privacy practices. Affiliate links are disclosed when we may earn a commission. Sponsored restaurants are labeled. We do not send your name, votes or room code in partner tracking links. Country and optional city are sent to DashGrub when you request local offers.

Keeping data

Inactive room data is scheduled for deletion after 24 hours. Anonymous completed-game counts and optional offer events are scheduled for removal after 90 days. Approved commissions and sponsor invoices are reconciled separately from partner reports. Hosting providers also process technical request information; Vercel provides site usage and performance metrics.
